Hybrid Taxis in NYC

I would like to give NYC some credit here. Treehugger is reporting that NYC will be getting more hybrids in their fleet of Taxis. This is a great idea. Most of Taxi driving in NYC is stop and go and that is when the Hybrid becomes benifical. Heck, they will barely even use any gas at all.

What i'm confused by is this picture below. It is great that they are getting hybrids, but why hybrid SUVs? Why not hybrid sedans? They MPG on a hybrid SUV is the same as on my Nissan Sentra. Well, at least it's a step in the right direction.
