Halloween Party

We had a Halloween style party here at All American Valley Radio, and our microphone was there. Well the microphone is always there, it just so happens, that the party was next to the microphone. In any case, we recorded some things, and we are going to share them with you so please enjoy this Halloween show.

We Lack Commitment

No really, I think we do to some extend. Actually I think most people today, especially the younger generation lack commitment. Now let me explain.

I love new technology, and I love new projects. And a lot of times when something new is around, I want to jump up and start doing something with it. Much like this blog/podcast. It was cool, and new, and geeky. But with a busy schedule and really getting nothing in return, there is no incentive to keep going, hence why there hasn't been a new show in a while. Where as when we are involved with things that have a return on them, we tend to commit to it, and see it through to the end.

Now, I don't want to say it's a bad thing. After all, we are able to try many different things without a lot of capital, and really have no loss when you stop. But I do feel a little sad when I stop something that at one time I put effort into. So here is to trying to get back into this blog/podcast thing.

Not enough time

That's right, there is not enough time in the day anymore. I know I said that we would have a new show up soon, but it is easier said than done. I mean both of us are working more than one job, and have crazy lives. So the idea of sitting down to do a show isn't as easy as I would like it to be.

Well, since we are busy (and lazy) we (someone else) have come up with a brilliant solution. This Friday night we will be recording a show during our Halloween party. So prepare for crazy guests and crazy talking coming to a Podcast near you very soon.

They have stepped up there game

Who? Well, the folks at Free iPods.com, that's who. As part of an advertising style program, they offer you an iPod if you and some of your friends sign up for cool things. Well, now they have made it into a video iPod.

Where did we go

Ok, I know this was supposed to be a weekly PodCast, but with 2 busy people doing it, things don't always get done. I know this is heart breaking for all 5 of you out there, but hey, we are busy. I do however promise that soon we will have a new episode, and maybe we might even start doing mini episodes on our own to fill the void (I haven't told Justin about this idea yet).

Now something that I want to know is how did John Roberts get to be cheif Justice of the Supreme Court? Why didn't someone from the inside get bumped up and just put him on the bench. How many CEOs out there go from working at McDonald's to head of GE!? None, that's how many. They usually work in a VP job for a while. And in a related note, what is up with Brownie, former head of FEMA. He slips through to become the head of an organization that he has no right to be in charge of. Guess what America, he doesn't know what he is doing, and sadly it took a disaster and a poor response resulting in the death of too many American's to finally fire someone in the Bush Administration!!!

Episode Four

Episode Four comes to you with no guest (sorry), two Sam Adams, and some microphone troubles. Items of interest include a little Italian restaurant in Fairfield by the name of Ponte Vecchio and a new video business called ZDRO Productions. And there is of course the tale we tell of party induced property damage.

Enjoy!

New business

I went to school to study media, and I learned a lot, but I haven't really been doing a lot with it, until now. The other day, while listening to other people and how some people keep messing up jobs, I thought to myself "I can do this." So here we go.

I have decided to start the business of photography, taping weddings and the like. The business is ZDRO Productions, and you better believe I am looking for customers. But I am not posting this to advertise (well, maybe just a little bit), but more importantly to say that if you have talent with a camera, designing web pages, or creating servers, or whatever else, don't sit on your ass. Get up, and make some money at it, because there are people ready to throw money at you, they just don't know you yet.

More on this on the next podcast which will be recorded tonight (as long as nothing happens to prevent us from recording).

Episode 3

This is the first episode from the new appartment. Recorded on August 5, 2005, sometime in the evening after highlifes, Tiger Wood's golf and some local pizza, we are joined by our friend Ryan on this show. Without the laptop around, we used my computer and had the three of us huddled in my room. Enjoy the show.

Just wrong

Ok, so I was at the Trumbull mall in line at Subway getting my lunch when something that was just wrong caught my eye. I saw a guy wearing something that he should not of been wearing. Ladies and gents, there was a white guy wearing a DEW RAG!!! I understand the styles and everything, but the dew rag was designed for a certain hair type, and white people don't have that kind of hair. So if you're a white guy wearing a dew rag, stop it. It looks stupid on you!

Things to do when moving

As previously mentioned, we are in the middle of moving from Naugatuck to Shelton, CT. Now, when taking on such an endevour, you will find it easy to part with small knick knacks, old pieces of clothing and older things such as TV stands that you will just buy new ones of. A suggestion is that all of the things are of some value to someone (aside from you) should be placed in a box and then dropped off at a local Salvation Army of Good Will store. The items will go to people that want or need them, and you won't be wasting anything. Now another thing that you might want to do as a way saying goodbye is to take an item that was a staple of the place, but might not fit in where you are moving to, and give it a proper sending off...

AAVR EP 2, July 24, 2005

Episode One, July 13, 2005

This is episode one of All American Valley Radio. Please leave comments, and tell all your friends.

Part One: Moving from one apartment to another.

Part Two: What will happen in the Supreme Court.

Part Three: Tip of the Week.

Part Four: The two person chicken meal.

Part Five: Dating; when is the other person just giving you the cold shoulder?
In a world with too many blogs, here comes one more. And to make it easy on the eyes, this will be a PODCAST, so you don't have to read... A lot... Unless you want to. Every week, Justin and myself, will be coming to you over the digital airwaves at your convenience. We don't claim to have a crystal ball that says how the world should be run, but we do have some good ideas.

Each week, we hope to give helpful insight on the easy way for a post college grad to live. We know that moving out on your own (or even with a friend) can be a challenge, but we have figured out ways to survive in this world, and we want to share with you the way to cook an inexpensive meal, impress a girl, pay the rent, and many other helpful tips. And yes, we will have some 'opinions' on the world.

We hope that you enjoy our little show.
